Description

Late Meiji period Japanese Imari scalloped charger c1900. Traditionally painted in the Imari palette. Characteristic design of vase with flowers centrally and with broad, scalloped rim decorated in floral and foliate panels. Classic example of the Imari-ware that was made for export during the Meiji period. It has an unglazed foot and its ground has a blue tint. This charger measures 31 cm in diameter and 5 cm in height.
This charger is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. Minor glaze flaws from original firing. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
