Description

A good quality gilt brass French striking repeat carriage clock with original travel case c1885. Well proportioned classic gorge case in gilt brass with cast, gilt brass handle. Bevelled glass panels and large rectangular bevelled top window displaying its original jewelled lever platform escapement. White enamel dial with black roman numerals and minute ring with blued-steel hands. A twin barrel 8-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a coiled gong. Repeat button striking the last hour when depressed. The clock has its original Moroccan leather travel case with leather strap. Travel case is 16.5 cm in height, 13 cm wide and 12 cm in depth. The clock measures is 18 cm in height to top of handle (14 cm excluding handle), width is 10 cm and depth 9 cm. Supplied with traditional double-ended brass key. Fully cleaned and serviced. The clock's movement is covered by our 12-month warranty within the UK.
This carriage clock is in excellent condition commensurate with age. In excellent working order. Gilt gorge case in excellent condition. No damage to dial or glass panels.
