Description

A quality George V silver photograph frame by Robert Chandler, Birmingham 1922. The silver frame is of a plain oval form with a broad and unembellished, domed surface. This silver oval frame retains the original oak wood back and hinged strut, secured with a fixed tab and two swivel catches. The silver frame is of a particularly good gauge of silver and is inset with a removable glass cover. Hallmarked for the Birmingham Assay Office 1922 and for silversmith Robert Chandler. The frame measures 20.5 cm by 15.5 cm. Aperture measures 16 cm by 11 cm.
This oval silver frame is in excellent overall condition commensurate with age. The silver frame is exceptional condition with virtually no signs of use. Oak back is solid. Hinge to strut and catches securing the back are all sound. Please see images as they forms an important part of the description.
