A beautiful early eighteenth century George second fruitwood stool ,in very good sturdy usable condition standing on cabriole pad foot legs with shell carved knees of peg and joint construction and marked NT and the date1717 to inside of top rail it has had wood worm which was very common on these pieces which is why they are so scarce however this is long since extinct and treated as a precaution,the the cover which whilst probably not original is certainly 19th century and is serviceable with one minor hole the webbing and horsehair is certainly the original a rare piece of early eighteenth century furniture and in very good original useable condition.there is no soft or crumbly wood and I have had a piece spliced in inside of a short rail structurally it has another 300yrs of service

17” or 43.2 cm deep
There is no softwood at all one short rail has had a piece spliced in (inside)there is another 300 yrs service in this piece
