Description

A very rare Gilbey's Horoscope/Zodiac tin tray c1958 designed by Edward Bawden. The tray features Bawden vignettes depicting star signs as caricature's of ordinary people in a state of intoxication. A set of 12 coasters were also produced with the same images. Gilbey's are best know for the manufacture of Gilbey's Gin. Bawdens initials 'EB' appear by the sign for Virgo. This is extremely rare as very few were made and even fewer have survived in this condition.
Dia 13.25 inches (34cm)
In good vintage condition with no dents, bangs or creases. Some light wear from use with some scratches and surface spots as would be expected from a vintage tray. Please see photos.
