Description

A very nice and unusual gilt bronze mantel or table clock fitted with an 8 day silky movement (pendulum suspended on a silk thread) the face is silvered with black hands, these movements were only made between 1840 and 1850 its a timepiece only and does not chime. the case is marble lower part mounted on bronze feet . The other part is all gilt bronze and very unusually there is the body of what appears to be a Prussian officer laying beside the stump of a tree which looks to have sustained cannon fire, never seen another one like this and must represent a battle in the Napoleonic wars.NO makers mark on the movement but in perfect working order.

We prefer this to be collected due to the delicacy of the item but we can ship if need be.
