Description

A late c.18th, Georgian period, mahogany inlaid bureau. Sloping fold down desk front top, inlaid with shell motif, brass escutcheon and lock. Reveals desk surface with later green leather skiver. Small drawers with original handles, pigeon holes, central cabinet door flanked by secret compartments. The base comprises of four full width drawers all with original pairs of brass pull handles. All raised on bracket feet. Solid mahogany with solid oak linings. Extremely heavy, made from high quality timbers and constructed to a very high standard.
