You are looking at an original, vintage signed and inscribed photograph of Jean Cocteau and another gentleman.

In this candid photo, the writer leans slightly forwards over a table holding a pair of spectacles to his eyes as he inspects one of the illustrated books on the table before him. Signed in blue with a dedication in French to Ivan Stauffer (possibly the other gentleman in the image) and dated 1956.

The reverse has a square stamp reading ‘PHOTO PIC’, ‘21, Avenue du Maine, Paris-15 - Lit. 93-14’, ‘MENTION OBLIGATOIRE’ and ‘DROIT DE REPRODUCTION RESERVES - S.P.A. PARIS’. There is also an address on the top right in black & the name ‘Ivan Stauffer’ in pencil.
