Description

An Edo period five section Japanese lacquered inro with a delightful depiction of a cockrel,hen and chicks on one side and some trees on a rocky outcrop on the other.
The compartments open comfortably and the compartment insides decorated in nashiji with calligraphy to four of the lids.

The top has a crack and a loss,I think the bottom has an old restoration and loss and there is a crack on the bottom compartment,additionally there is wear to the surface and edges,two runners have losses and there is minor wear to the compartment insides.
