William Deacon Embossed Silver Bell-Shaped Inkwell.The inkwell measures 4" (10 cm)tall, and the base is 9.5 cm in diameter.
The weight is 134 grams (4.3 Troy ounces), which is the actual silver weight as there is no loaded base or liner.
Hallmarked W.D, Sheffield 1889.
It is in lovely condition, apart from a few dings underneath the lid. They are not noticeable as they are under the lid, and I would say they could be fixed by a good silversmith.
It is an attractive piece and quite a rare design.
