Description

A lovely set of chairs. We date these chairs to the late 20th Century.

The chairs consist of four chairs and two carvers. The chairs sit on square section downward tapered legs with spade feet at the front and slightly splayed downward tapered square section legs at the rear.

The chair seat pads are upholstered in a striped cream and green patterned fabric and have a serpentine front. The shield back backrests have an open splat back with wheatsheaf carvings.

The chairs have a height of 39.5" (100cm), a width of 20.5" (52cm), a depth of 22" (56cm), a backrest height of 21" (54cm), a seat height of 18.5" (47cm), a seat width of 20.5" (52cm) and a seat depth of 17.5" (45cm).

The carvers, as normal, are a little wider at 22” (56cm).

These lovely dining chairs remain in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some marks to most of the seat pads from past use as can be seen in the pictures, they may benefit from being reupholstered at some point in the future.

These remain a very stylish and elegant set of dining chairs. That will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
