Description

A lovely triple Art Deco wardrobe. We date this wardrobe to the 1940s.

The wardrobe is supplied in four sections the base, separate cornice, the main double hanging section and the drawer side section.

The wardrobe sits on five carved claw and ball feet.

The double left hand side of the wardrobe has two side hinged doors, the interior has a side to side full width brass hanging rail with six brass hooks, there are five brass hooks to the rear and sides.

There is a single section to the right, internally it has two linen press drawers over three deep drawers fitted with brass campaign handles.

The wardrobe doors have a lovely quartered veneer and are fitted with bakelite handles mounted on backplates and are fitted with locks (no key is supplied but one should be obtainable if needed), the right hand door of the main wardrobe is fitted with top and bottom catches. The handles turn to operate the catches.

The wardrobe has a height of 80.5" (205cm), a width of 62" (158cm) at the feet and a depth of 24" (61cm) at the feet.

The wardrobe has an internal hanging depth of 20” (51cm) and a hanging drop of 63” (160cm).

This lovely wardrobe remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. A shelf has been removed at some time in the past from the main wardrobe to allow for a longer hanging drop. There is a small piece of veneer missing from the front left hand edge and there are a number of small usage indentions to some of the edges.

This remains a very stylish and elegant wardrobe which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
