Description

A lovely mahogany bookcase. We date this bookcase to the mid 19th century.

The bookcase sits on four splayed square section feet with a carved front and side apron.

The bookcase has two side hinged glazed doors with glass panes in attractive oval mouldings.

The right hand door is fitted with a working lock (key supplied), the left hand door is secured with top and bottom catches and fitted with a dummy key hole.

The bookcase is fitted with four adjustable wooden shelves.

The bookcase has an overall height of 68" (172cm), a cornice width of 49" (125cm) and a cornice depth of 13.5" (34cm).

The shelves are 10.5” (27cm) deep.

This lovely mahogany bookcase remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some old repairs at the hinges and some minor wear to some edges and feet.

This remains a very stylish and elegant mahogany bookcase which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
