Description

An attractive upholstered Italian style settee. We date this settee to the second half of the 20th century.

The settee sits on six carved legs arranged four at the front and two to the rear. The settee has three loose seat cushions and a fixed buttoned backrest. The armrests are well padded and have a scroll end with a lovely carved front, the carving continues along the front of the settee below the seat. The backrest has a shapely carved top rail that continues down to the rear of the arm rest.

The settee is upholstered in a green coloured velour material finished with a stud edging.

The settee has an overall height of 36" (92cm) at highest with an overall length of 80" (203cm) and an overall depth of 31" (79cm). The sofa has a backrest height of 20" (51cm), a seat height of 16" (41cm), a seat width of 61" (155cm) and a seat depth of 22" (56cm).

This attractive settee remains in good solid condition with only minor surface marking commensurate with age and usage. The settee has minor wear to the wood and fabric. The fabric has mellowed slightly due to positioning in the past and there is a tiny tear to the rear material near the top.

This remains a very stylish and elegant settee. The settee will continue to provide rest and repose for many years to come.
