Description

A lovely walnut sewing box. We date this sewing box to 1936.

The box stands on slender downward cabriole legs on pad feet.

The sewing box has a hinged lid that lifts to reveal a slightly padded section to hold small items on the reverse of the lid and lined with a gold coloured fabric.

The sewing box is fitted with a lock (key is supplied), there is a brass presentation plaque on the front dated 1936 to a Miss E Wood from the members of the Torry U.F Church.

The sewing box has an overall height of 26.5" (68cm), a width of 15.5" (39cm) at the legs and a depth of 12.5" (32cm) at the legs.

This lovely walnut sewing box remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is some minor wear to the top surface and some edges.

This remains a very stylish and elegant sewing box. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
