Description

A lovely oak bookcase. We date this bookcase to the early 20th century.

The bookcase sits on square section legs with a H stretcher, the front legs have a decorative cup and cover mouldings above the feet. There is a small plain gallery to the rear and an attractive moulding around the top, front and sides.

The bookcase has two cabinets each with a side hinged glazed door with a glass pane. Both doors are fitted with a working lock (key supplied).

The bookcase is fitted with two adjustable wooden shelves to each side.

The bookcase has an overall height of 49.5" (126cm) including gallery, a table top height of 48” (122cm), a width of 49.5" (126cm) at the feet and a depth of 12.5" (32cm) at the feet.

The shelves have a depth of 9.5” (24cm).

This lovely oak bookcase remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage including minor marks and scratches to the top surface. There is a small repair to the moulding at the left hand side and one shelf has a slight twist.

This remains a very stylish and elegant oak bookcase which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
