Description

A lovely Art Nouveau display cabinet. We date this cabinet to the 1900s.

The cabinet comes in one section please be aware of measurements for delivery and around corners, etc.

The cabinet has two side by side display areas at the top each with an attractive side hinged lead glazed door fitted with brass drop ring handles and a lock. The sides of the cabinet also have lead glazed panels. Internally the cabinets are lined with grey velvet to the back and base, each have two removable wooden shelves that have inset grey velvet lining.

The lower section sits on four downward tapered square section legs on spade feet. There is a central drawer fitted with two brass drop ring handles mounted on decorative backplates. Below there is a single cupboard with a side hinged panelled door. The panel has a lovely inlaid design with mother of pearl and fitted with a brass drop ring handle and lock (the key is supplied to fit all locks).

The cupboard is flanked by an open shelf area to each side.

The cabinet has an overall height of 73" (186cm), a cornice width of 50.5" (128cm) and a depth of 16.5" (42cm).

This lovely art nouveau cabinet remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. The top has been altered at some time in the past, it would originally have had a gallery at the top. There is some minor wear and indents to some edges and a left hand side lower shelf has an indentation mark at the front. The fabric has a few ring indentations and marks where items have sat in the past.

This remains a very stylish and elegant cabinet which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
