Description

A lovely mahogany desk. We date this desk to the early 20th century.

The table sits on two downward tapered square section legs with spade feet to the left and four drawers on a plain plinth base to the right. There is a single drawer above the kneehole area that has a carved design at each side. Both ends of the desk have a lovely quarter veneered design.

The drawers are fitted with attractive brass button handles and locks (no key is supplied one should be obtainable if required).

The top surface has a green inlaid leather insert.

The desk has an overall height of 29.5" (75cm), a width of 38.5" (98cm) and a depth of 22.5" (57cm). The kneehole has a height of 24” (61cm) and a width of 21” (54cm).

This lovely desk remains in a good solid condition. There is some wear and indentations to some edges and some small pieces of veneer missing on the table top at the left hand side edge. The drawers have a few ink stains from past use as can be seen in pictures.

This remains a very stylish and elegant desk. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
