An attractive upholstered Greaves & Thomas sofa bed, we date this sofa bed to the 1960/70s.

The sofabed sits on attractive downward tapered legs to the front and lower block legs to the rear.

The sofa bed is upholstered in a blue heavy woven material with a padded buttoned back and teak armrests.

The mechanism lifts at the front and unfolds into the sofa bed and foam mattress, the backrest lowers and folds over to complete the sleeping area. The base of the bed is box spring with a hessian cover. There is a lable for ‘Greaves & Thomas’ below the seat cushions.

The sofa has an overall height of 30" (77cm), with an overall width of 67.5" (172cm) and an overall depth of 31.5" (90cm). It has a backrest height of 17.5" (44cm), a seat height of 16.5" (42cm), a seat width of 57" (144cm) and a seat depth of 21" (53cm).

The length of the sofa bed is 75” (190cm) when opened.

This attractive sofa bed remains in a good condition with only minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage, including a bit of play to the frame and some minor wear to the wooden armrests. The material has some wear with a few holes to some of the edges. The foot stoppers are missing from the bed frame at the left hand side.

This remains a very stylish and elegant daybed. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come. It would provide an ideal reupholstery/restoration project for someone with the requisite skills.
