Description

A lovely mahogany secretaire chest. We date this chest to the first half of the 20th century.

The chest sits on a plain plinth base.

The chest comprises a large secretaire drawer over a further bank of three drawers. The drawers are fitted with brass campaign handles.

The secretaire drawer is fitted with various small drawers and pigeon holes. There is a central pull out pen holder with a secret drawer behind.

The chest of drawers has an overall height of 42.5" (107cm), a width of 41.5" (105cm) and a depth of 20.5" (52cm).

This lovely chest remains in a good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including some minor marks and light scratches to the top surface and minor wear to some edges. There is a mark inside the secretaire drawer where something has been spilled in the past and removed the finish. The brass support to the drop flap has an old repair.

This remains a very stylish chest of drawers which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
