Description

A lovely elm sewing box. We date this sewing box to the first half of the 20th century.

The box stands on downward tapered legs that join at the top and continue up as a carrying handle.

The sewing box has a hinged lid at each end that lifts to reveal a padded pin cushion on the reverse of the lid and lined with cream fabric.

The sewing box has an overall height of 25" (63cm), a table top height of 18.5” (47cm), a width of 20" (51cm) and a depth of 12" (31cm).

This lovely elm sewing box remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some minor marks and wear to the top surface and a bigger repair to one of the legs. The fabric lining has wear and marks as can be seen in the pictures.

This remains a very stylish and elegant sewing box. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
