Description

A lovely large oriental gong. We date this gong to the second half of the 19th century.

The brass gong hangs within a frame that sits on a sturdy stepped base with rounded edges. There is a later added beater that sits on a hook to the rear.

The gong has an overall height of 40" (102cm), an overall width of 37.5" (96cm) and an overall base depth of 15.5" (39cm).

This lovely gong remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage. There is a bit of wear to the frame and some marks to the gong from past use.

This remains a very stylish and elegant antique gong, it will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
