Description

A lovely mahogany desk. We date this desk to the second half of the 20th century.

The desk comes in three parts, two pedestals and the top drawer section. The pedestals sit on bracket feet.

The desk has a central drawer over the kneehole area flanked by a smaller drawer to each side. The left hand pedestal has three small drawers and the right hand pedestal has one small drawer over one deep drawer.

The drawers are fitted with brass swan neck drop handles mounted on circular backplates.

The top drawers are fitted with a lock (key is supplied). The top surface of the desk is fitted with a brown leather insert.

The desk has an overall height of 30.5" (78cm), a width of 48" (122cm) and a depth of 23.5" (60cm). The knee hole area has a width of 21” (53cm).

This lovely mahogany desk remains in very good solid condition with minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is some wear to the finish including a number of small indents primarily to the top surface edges. The leather writing area has some minor wear.

This remains a very stylish and elegant mahogany desk. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
