Description

A lovely burr walnut jardiniere. We date this jardiniere to the mid 19th century.

The jardiniere sits on four cabriole legs and has ornate brass mouldings at the top of each leg that continue down the outer edge to the feet. There is an inlaid scrolling foliage design around the carved apron to each side.

The top is rectangular and has a recessed curved shaped top with attractive brass mouldings to the corners and around the edges. The top has a raised brass filigree tray edge.

The lift out top has two brass handles and a lovely inlaid design, when lifted it reveals the metal liner of the planter.
The liner has a handle at each side to lift out.

The jardiniere has a height of 30" (77cm), a width of 29" (74cm) at widest and a depth of 18.5" (47cm) at deepest.

This lovely jardiniere remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage including some minor wear to some edges. The metal liner has some minor wear marks.

This remains a very stylish and elegant jardiniere which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
