Description

A lovely corner bookcase cabinet. We date this bookcase to the 1920s.

The bookcase comes in three sections, the centre cabinet and the two flanking bookcases.

The centre cabinet consists of two fixed wooden shelves and a side hinged glazed door with glass panes with wood glazing strips producing a pleasing astragal pattern. The cabinet is fitted with a lock (key is supplied).

The display cabinet is flanked by a bookcase to each side, each having two fixed wooden shelves. The bookcases are screwed to the central cabinet.

The bookcase has a height of 36” (92cm), a width of 33.5” (85cm) and a depth of 24.5” (62cm).

Each book case has a width of 29” (74cm)
and a depth of 11" (28cm).

The depth of the shelves are 8.5” (21cm).

When it is assembled it measures 53” (135cm) in length from the back corner.

This lovely bookcase remains in a good solid condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is minor wear to some of the edges and surfaces from past use and there are some slightly darker marks to the top surface.

This remains a very stylish bookcase. It could house a good sized collection of books etc. and will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
