Description

A lovely limed oak tallboy. We date this tallboy to the 1930’s.

The tallboy sits on four bracket feet with a plinth front.

The tallboy consists of a cupboard and two drawers. The cupboard has two side hinged doors each fitted with top and bottom catches. Internally there are two slide out removable shelves.

There is a deep drawer below the cupboard and above the cupboard there is a protruding drawer with curved edges flanked by painted carvings in autumn colours. The drawers and cupboard are fitted with decorative handles mounted on circular backplates.

The top of the cabinet has a rounded edge to the sides and a small plain gallery to the rear.

The tallboy has a height of 41" (104cm) including gallery, a table top height 40” (102cm), a width of 32" (81cm) and a depth of 19" (49cm).

This lovely Art Deco tallboy remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a bit of wear to some of the edges including the base from past use.

This remains a very stylish and elegant tallboy which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
