Description

A lovely antique Victorian mahogany chest of drawers. We date this chest to the second half of the 19th century.

The chest sits on four bracket feet. The chest comprises a bank of two short over three long drawers. The drawers are fitted with drop brass handles mounted on shapely circular back plates and are also fitted with locks (no key is supplied, but a suitable replacement should be obtainable if required). The chest has oak lined drawers.

The chest has a height of 42" (107cm), a width of 43" (109cm) and a depth of 20.5" (52cm).

This lovely Victorian chest remains in a good solid condition. There is some wear, light indented lines and marks to the top surface and some of the edges. There has been a repair to the rear leg to the outer left hand side and the front edge of the top surface has a later veneered strip running its length. The handles have been replaced with period ones at some point in the past.

This remains a very stylish and elegant Victorian chest which will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
