Description

An attractive small Victorian walnut open armchair. We date this chair to the late 19th century.

The chair sits on two barley twist legs at the front and two oblong section legs at the rear. The legs sit on ceramic castors.

The backrest of the chair has a horseshoe shape and is well padded and buttoned. The backrest and arms have barley twist supports with a lovely scroll front to the arms. The chair seat is well padded with a serpentine front, the chair is upholstered in a pink velour material.

The chair has an overall height of 30" (77cm), an overall width of 27" (68cm), an overall depth of 24" (61cm), a backrest height of 17" (43cm), a seat height of 12.5" (32cm), a seat width of 21" (54cm) and a seat depth of 20” (50cm).

The chair remains in a very good usable condition with only very minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage, including some very light wear to the material.

This remains a very stylish and elegant chair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
