Description

A lovely three panel tapestry fire screen. We date this screen to the late 19th century.

The screen is raised on arched legs at the side, the frame holds the three panels each with a small brass button pull handle. One panel pulls out from each side and one lifts out from above. The top panel has a small catch at each side at the bottom to hold it in place.

The tapestries consist of a floral and foliage design and sit within the mahogany frame.

When closed the screen is 42" (107cm) high, 27" (69cm) wide and 14.5" (37cm) deep at the feet.

This lovely screen remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. This includes some minor indentations around the base and edges including the pull out panels. The tapestry has a couple of very small minor thread catches.

This remains a stylish and elegant fire screen which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
