Victorian Green Man Carved Oak Twin Writiting Desk

Description

A lovely Victorian green man heavily carved oak desk. We date this desk to the late 19th century.

The desk is supplied in three sections: the two pedestals and the top section.

The pedestals each sit on four recessed bracket feet with a cut out apron.

The desk pedestals each have three graduated drawers. The main top section has two outer drawers flanking a larger central drawer over the kneehole area. The table top surface has a dark brown vinyl writing surface.

The carvings on each drawer consist of the green man masks and scrolls. There are further carvings around the base and table top edge.

The faces on the drawers are the handles. The drawers are fitted with locks (no key is supplied but a suitable replacement could be obtained if required).

The desk has a height of 29.5" (75cm), a width of 48" (122cm) and a depth of 30" (76cm).

The kneehole height is 22.5” (57cm), width is 17.5” (44cm).

This lovely desk remains in very good solid condition with minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a little wear to the bottom to some of the handles and some minor wear to some of the edges. The writing surface has a bit of wear from past use

This remains a very stylish and elegant twin pedestal desk. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
