Description

A lovely work table. We date this table to the late 19th century.

The table features a hinged lidded boxed section and stands on a turned carved column, the column supported on three splayed legs.

The table top is hinged and octagonal in shape with a decorative inlaid chess board on the top surface. The top lifts to reveal multiple sections which have been lined with floral paper at some time in the past. There is a central work box well and four sections have red fabric lids. There are drafts inside,10 of each colour.

The table is fitted with a lock (no key is supplied, but one should be obtainable if required).

The table has a height of 31.5" (80cm) with a diameter of 18” (45cm).

This lovely games table remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some minor marks and indents from past use to the top surface and some of the edges. The lower base part and legs have been refinished at some time in the past. There is wear to the internal lined paper and fabric and one of the small internal lids is missing a handle.

This remains a very stylish games table. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
