Description

A lovely marble top washstand. We date this washstand to the second half of the 19th century.

The washstand sits on four downward tapered turned legs. They sit upon their original ceramic castors.

The main table top has an attractive grey and white mottled marble surface.

The rear of the table has a carved gallery fitted with brown and white tiles with a floral design.

The washstand has a central drawer to the front of the table.

The washstand has an overall height of 40" (102cm) (including gallery) with a table height of 29.5" (75cm), a width of 36" (92cm) and a depth of 20" (51cm).

This lovely ash washstand remains in good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including some minor marks and wear to the marble surface from past use. There is some wear to some of the table edges and legs.

This remains a very stylish and elegant washstand, which could serve equally well as a dressing table or even a desk for a laptop etc. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
