Description

A lovely heavy brass cheval mirror. We date this mirror to the second half of the 20th century.

The mirror consists of a large heavy bevelled edge oval mirror, supported on an attractive frame.

The frame sits on shapely arched legs with scroll feet, supported by a reeded horizontal cross rail below the mirror. The mirror supports are reeded and rise from the legs to support the mirror at either side with catches to fix the mirror in position. The side supports have attractive finials to top.

The rear of the mirror has a lovely floral tapestry and it can be swivelled and fixed at any angle.

The mirror has an overall height of 71" (181cm), a width of 26.5" (68cm) and a base depth of 22" (56cm).

This lovely cheval mirror remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. The legs and supports have some very slight tarnish marks in some areas from past use.

This remains a very stylish and elegant cheval mirror which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
