Description

Three north western frontier flint lock muskets, early 19th century, two with earlier 18th century hexagonal barrels. The flint lock mechanisms have various symbols and signatures, one mechanism is made by the famous British inventor and Engineer - Henry Nock 1741 - 1804. Many of these Jezail rifles were very personal weapons with the decoration tailored to the owner. Many of the flint lock mechanisms where from captured Brown Bess muskets.
The three muskets are heavily inlaid with detailed brass and mother of pearl work. One of the mechanisms doesn't quite function properly and there are no ramrods present. Overall the guns are in excellent condition for their age and are very decorative objects.
