A lovely original Mek Elek factory machinist's wall/table lamp. Mek-Elek Engineering were based in Douglas Street, London, S.W.1. They specialised in the manufacture of high intensity lighting equipment. They were available in a wide range of types and sizes for the floor, bench, wall and ceiling. The joints of the arms give a complete 360° movement. The swiveling head enables the light to be focused in exactly the right position. Maker stamps to various places of the lamp, including the unusual wall mount. The switch for the lamp is situated just behind the shade. It is in absolutely beautiful condition with the original enamel and paint work throughout. circa 1930's. Fully extended the lamp measures 145cm maximum. Diameter of the shade is 18cm
