Description

A fine oak and mahogany longcase clock by Joseph Holmes of Cheadle. This clock and its case have been fully restored and is in full working condition. The case has a broken arched pediment to the top with a brass finial to the centre. The case also has some nice inlay throughout which really does make it look special. The dial is white with black Arabic numbers and features a lake scene with two swans in the arch and then it is further decorated with flowers to the corners of the face. The dial has a date window along with a sub seconds dial. The movement is an 8-day mechanical mechanism striking on the hours. circa 1820
