A cased sterling silver reproduction Roman spoon. This is of a design used in Britain in the second century A.D. and characterised by its elegant 'Goose Neck' and pointed handle. The latter had the practical purpose of extracting meat from bones and crustaceans. Hallmarked Birmingham 1983, maker C Robathan & SonDate1980s :
