Glorious figured mahogany chamber writing table , not signed or stamped but almost certainly the work of Gillows it is one of their well known early 19th century designs and is of the quality and workmanship that typifies their work of this period.
The well figured top with inset stationary 'chamber' and reeded edge over a panelled frieze with single full width drawer which retains its original wooden knobs and steel lock. All raised on simple turned and tapering legs down to the original brass caps and castors. Lovely original condition , beautifully chosen timber ....a table that has obviously been cherished over the last near 200 years.
