Rare Asprey Table Top Letter Box

An Asprey of London Letter Box or "Combination Hall Letterbox & Guide Book Rack’ as it was titled when it was retailed in circa 1900. This high quality table top letter box has 2 open compartment to either side which would have taken local directories and tourist information - it would have been found in Hotels and larger homes. There is a brass slot for you to post your letter in and the looking glass is bevelled. The box is fitted with a Bramah lock and comes with 2 Bramah keys, beneath is a small drawer entitled telegrams. This neat item is stamped by Asprey to the lock and is in complete and original condition throughout, wonderful colour and lustre to the Oak.Dimensions Height 10 Inches (25.5cm), Width 18 1/4 Inches (46.5cm), Depth 8 3/4 Inches (22.25cm)
