Description
Pair of Charles Meigh (& Son) early Stone China plates. They both have the back-stamp for 1835 to 1861. Additionally, they have an under-glaze blue 'Cistus' flower pattern name. These plates were purchased from an elderly gentleman whose Grandfather started a very successful seed merchant business in Maidstone, Kent. An early set of labels persist. One plate has a glaze chip to the rear (see pics). Both plates show scratching and a little crazing. They measure approx. 26cm in diameter.DateEarly Victorian
