A large 18th century Verdure Aubusson Tapestry depicting a forest glade setting with a pool encircled by trees, reeds and irises. This antique tapestry is enclosed within an ornate Louis XV border decorated with bowls of fruits nestling in an abundance of flowers, berries and foliage. French, circa 1720.Notes: This type of Verdure Tapestry, also known as garden tapestries, is always distinguished by it's decorative design based on plant forms.
