Victorian era Maori Tewhatewha

Description
A large 19th century wooden Maori Tewhatewha or long club .At 1.83 metres there is a carved Tiki,Janus head on the shaft with shell inlaid eyes .Traditionally a chiefs weapon and a signalling device during battle this example would have been brought to the UK by Victorian travellers possibly on their grand tour c1850-1900. In very good condition there are small chips, marks and a deep aged patina. More pictures and information on request.Not all stock is located at our premises so please contact us before visiting if you wish to see specific items. We will make a full refund of the purchase price (excluding any delivery costs) if you are not fully satisfied with your online purchase. At present we ship only to mainland UK but customers are of course able to make their own arrangements for pick up by international couriers .
