STUNNING ORIGINAL FRENCH ARMCHAIR WITH TAPESTRY UPHOLSTERY

A lovely original french tapestry armchair.

The frame is very elegant and presented in light oak
The carving is accented in pastels and whites , all hand painted
The tapestry seat and back is hand woven and beautifully done.

It is pale green in the main and has beautiful pictorial images throughout making it far rarer than most french tapestry chairs

On the back are 2 ladies in period costume dancing

The lady is in traditional full skirt and tied bodice with romantic puff sleeves

The gentleman is in full regency dress

the seat depicts the gardens in which they are courting

there is a river , trees and a stone arched bridge

This chair is of exceptional quality, with the tapestry being hand woven and detailed, not like todays reproductions

The chair retains it’s original webbing beneath and is very firm.

It is very well sprung and padded and the upholstery is in overall good order.

A really gorgeous French chair and a lovely addition to any room.
