George IV silver scoop spoon, London 1824

Photos

Description

Antique George IV silver fiddle pattern scoop spoon. The spoon is probably a salt spoon, but could also be a sugar scoop. It is too small to be a tea caddy spoon.

The scoop spoon is fully hallmarked for London 1824. The maker is probably William Schofield as the date matches William's known working timeline. The George IV head duty stamp is also present.
All hallmarks are crisp and clear.

The scoop spoon is 10.8 cm (4.2") long. It weighs 10 grams.
All measurements are approximate.
The spoon is in very good condition, with just fine surface scratching commensurate with age and usage.
