Description

This art deco silver desk/table card case features a plain squares design, front and back.

The card case is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1940, and the makers William Suckling Ltd. The lid to the card case also carries a partial set of silver hallmarks.
The thumb catches, although not marked, are probably 9 carat gold, as this was usual.

William Suckling operated from Albion Street and Vyse Street, Birmingham.

The card case measures 8 cm (3.1") by 5.8 cm (2.3") by 1 cm (.4"). It weighs 103 grams.
All measurements are approximate.

The case is in excellent, almost unused condition. The lid hinge operates well, and the lid is a good fit.
