Description

Antique Georgian silver sugar sifter, featuring a pierced bowl on a plain ladle shape handle.

The sifter is fully hallmarked for 1801. The makers mark ("?F" )is worn so we have not been able to identify further.
The lion rampant, date letter and George III duty mark are clear. There is no town mark, which is not unusual for London and this period, and as mentioned above, the maker's mark is not clear.

The ladle shaped sifter is 17 cm (6.7") long. The pierced bowl is 4.6 cm (1.8") in diameter and 1.2 cm (.5") deep. It weighs 36 grams.
All measurements are approximate.
The sifter is in very good condition, with just light overall scratching commensurate with age.
Please study all photos as these form an important part of the description.
