Silver match book cover with simple engine turned decoration and unengraved cartouche.

The match book cover is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1929, and the makers Smaith & Bartlam.
All hallmarks are crisp and clear.

Smith & Bartlam worked out of Caroline Street, and later Branston Street, Birmingham.

The match book cover is 4.5 cm (1.75") by 6 cm (2.5"). It weighs 32 grams.
All measurements are approximate.

The cover is in good condition. The hinge and clasp work smoothly.
There are a few surface dents/knocks commensurate with age and use. The most noticeable of the knocks are two, one each side of the front cover, which have caused the sides to bulge slightly.
