Pair of Bateman silver salt spoons, 1812

Photos

Description

A pair of silver salt spoons, with gilded bowls and monogrammed finials.

These spoons are hallmarked for 1812, carry the George III duty mark, and identify the makers as Peter and William Bateman.
The date, George III duty and sterling silver marks are all crisp and clear. The makers mark is not crisp, but is still clear enough to positively make the identification. There is no town assay mark, but this is not unusual for London pieces of this time.

The spoons each measure approximately 10.3 cm (4") in length. The combined weight is 21g

The spoons are in very good condition.

Please study all photos as these form an important part of the description.
