Silver match book cover with engine turned decoration.

The match book cover is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1930, and the maker J W Tiptaft & Son Ltd on the lid catch.
The maker's monogram is worn, but the remaining marks are clear.
Any marks on the base to the case have been polished out (there is the merest hint they were on the outside edge near the catch).

Tiptaft & Son worked out of Northampton Street, Birmingham.

The match book cover is 4.5 cm (1.5") by 6 cm (2.25") by .5 cm (.25"). It weighs 19 grams.
All measurements are approximate.

The cover has all over light surface scratching, there are some shallow dents and it "smiles" slightly when closed. All commensurate with age and usage.
