Fine quality 19th century French bonheur du jour writing desk.

Upper section with brass gallery top and drawers beneath, tooled green leather writing surface.

The shaped frieze has a central drawer with dummy drawers to either side. Ormolu mounts to front and sides, the sides being centred by finely cast masks. Sits on elegant cabriole legs with full length ormolu mounts terminating in acanthus-cast sabots.

Mahogany carcass with veneer to whole

The desk is fully worked to all sides, allowing it to stand in the centre of the room with agreeable viewing from all angles.

Very good looking piece of furniture of excellent quality.
